Hernandez

📍 Location: A block north of Alexander Kiellands Plass, @hernandez.oslo has taken over an old hair salon and set up (a tiny) shop with two small tables, a narrow bar and spacious outdoor seating. It’s bright, quite quiet and feels like a proper “neighborhood café”.

😋 Food: The basque cheesecake, born 30 years ago in San Sebastián Spain, is similar to the New York cheesecake but differentiates itself by omitting a crust. It’s creamy, tangy and not too sweet. It’s understandably why it’s become an attraction and has become Hernández’ rise to fame. We also had a simple but decent sandwich with Norwegian cheese “Østavind”.

☕️ Coffee: The menu offers a good selection of espresso drinks, matcha lattes, and ice latte. We had a regular latte on oat milk and a fruity filter coffee. The filter coffee comes with a refill.

💸 Value: Sandwhiches for 75 kr, a slice for 70 kr and coffees at around 40-60 kr 👌
